Project VIS Applied for an Epic Games MegaGrant
Hello, I’m Jorge, the solo developer behind Visbilya. For those who’ve followed our updates on X (@Visbilya) and YouTube, you know that Project VIS is my dream project: an action survival horror game built in Unreal Engine 5.6. Today, I’m excited to share that we’ve officially applied for an Epic Games MegaGrant, a step that could be transformative for the game’s future.
Project VIS began in February 2025 as a solo developer project. While I’m still a student without professional industry experience, I’ve spent years creating 3D environments, animations, and stories as a hobby, skills I now bring into this project. The vision is ambitious: a survival horror game set in San Francisco, where players can interact with nearly every object in Project VIS.
You’ll step into the shoes of Ryan, a protagonist consumed by revenge against the corporation Visbilya, whose dark ambitions threaten humanity. Inspired by classics like Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and Outlast, Project VIS blends horror, action, and immersion to deliver a fresh, emotional experience.
The game is currently in production: core systems are in place, environments are evolving, and the narrative is unfolding. Trailers and showcases already released give a glimpse of what’s coming, with a roadmap targeting a 2027 launch across Steam, hoping that I can include in the future Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
As a solo developer, the greatest challenge is resources. My current hardwar, an Intel i3-8100 CPU, RTX 4060 Ti, and limited 16 gb ram ddr4, makes development demanding. That’s why the Epic MegaGrant, if awarded, will be critical. Requested funding ranges from $5,000 to $25,000, with plans to upgrade hardware, invest in software, and bring in voice actors to elevate the storytelling.
The MegaGrant is more than just funding, it’s also a confident boost for the developer of Project VIS. Epic’s support would not only provide financial resources but also open doors to mentorship and industry connections that are invaluable for an indie developer like myself. I was really motivated to apply after thinking about the future and potential of the videogame, because I believe that this will be really big.
Project VIS is designed for horror fans and players who crave immersive, detail-driven experiences. While still early, the passion and vision are strong, and the MegaGrant could accelerate progress toward delivering the polished and complete game players deserve.
